I post on here only about once a month. All my posts are about how pathetic "Irish Americans" are. Some Americans seem to think that having an Irish surname makes them Irish??? But they're not, they're Americans. Most are too stupid to realise that when their ancestors who came from Eastern Europe and were illiterate, were given "Anglo" names when they arrived at Ellis Island.

He said he shared the betrayal and shame felt by Irish Catholics after meeting senior bishops in Rome.

He now plans to write a letter to the Catholics of Ireland.

In a statement issued by the Vatican, Pope Benedict said he discussed the harrowing detail and cover-up of allegations against priests in the Dublin Archdiocesen as detailed in the inquiry report with Cardinal Sean Brady and Dublin Archbishop Diarmuid Martin.

"The Holy Father was deeply disturbed and distressed by its contents," it said. "He wishes once more to express his profound regret at the actions of some members of the clergy who have betrayed their solemn promises to God, as well as the trust placed in them by the victims and their families, and by society at large."

The Vatican said the Pontiff shared the outrage, betrayal and shame felt by so many of the faithful in Ireland, and that he was united with them in prayer at this difficult time in the life of the Church.

The statement added: "He assures all concerned that the Church will continue to follow this grave matter with the closest attention in order to understand better how these shameful events came to pass and how best to develop effective and secure strategies to prevent any recurrence."

The Murphy report detailed allegations against a sample 46 priests who served in Dublin between 1975 and 2004 and found that several bishops, including the Bishop of Limerick, Donal Murray, mishandled complaints against priests.

Bishop Murray has also been in Rome all week and is understood to be to be preparing to resign.

In the United States this is called "playing the race card." It is an overused ploy to instill shame in those who only want immigration (and other) laws enforced.

Are you willing to hand over your job to an illegal immigrant? Welcoming a few newly-arrived "immigrants" to your neighborhood is good for intellectual diversity. But the numbers increase until you're forced to move out because of culture overload. What then?

The citizens of Switzerland, taking heed of cultural domination elsewhere in Europe, had their say on mosques. The problem has not yet presented itself in the U.S. But how will the Irish react? A mosque on every street corner? Once beautiful and properous neighborhoods turned into third world trash heaps?

That will be most interesting. I hope the Irish (and Scots and Welsh) are never faced with that question.

Keep a tight rein on your immigration laws. Watch closely the liberal-leaning antics of bleeding heart politicians who want only to help the lowly and downtrodden.

The problems re: immigration have nothing to do with race, color, religion, or even nationality.

The United States is being overwhelmed by tens of millions of immigrants (mostly illegal) from Mexico and Central America. In fact, I would say that this isn't immigration: It's a serious humanitarian crisis. Mexico does not want these people and has said as much. With no education, no job skills, and a crushed spirit, these outcast immigrants rely on U.S. government handouts to live -- again, by the tens of millions. And they keep coming.

And this has decimated city and state economies. For the illegal immigrants education is free. Healthcare: Free. Housing and food subsidies: Free. All this supported by American taxpayers. Most immigrants don't pay taxes as their money is under-the-table cash. It's this overwhelming numbers of immigrants that is the problem. Ireland would have been crushed by the sheer weight of this new immigrant population.

Imagine applying for a much-needed job, and standing behind you are illegal immigrants applying for the same job. In the United States everybody is equal. But the much- vaunted Bill of Rights has spiraled out of control by the sheer numbers of people wanting equal opportunity. And nobody has any solutions.

With these numbers comes culture domination. Refusing to assimilate, the new immigrants create enclaves as they have in France, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, and elsewhere. And that's where the real trouble begins. Loosely interpreting local laws, these new immigrants find loopholes that almost overnight create transplanted versions of their former countries. One's nationality is not easily forgotten. So these new immigrants care nothing for the laws, customs, culture of the host country.

Moderation and balance is the key to any successful society. When this balance is totally upended by an immigrant culture there's going to be serious friction.

The statement came after the pope met with senior Irish bishops at the Vatican and discussed the report, published last month by the Dublin Archdiocese Commission of Investigation.

In its 720-page report, the commission said there was "no doubt" that sexual abuse of children by clergy was covered up from January 1975 to May 2004, the time covered by the report.

Child sexual abuse was "widespread" during that time period, the report said. Clergy focused on maintaining secrecy and avoiding scandal rather than protecting children's welfare, it said.

It also shot down the notion that church leadership was unaware of the problem, in contrast to what the Dublin archdiocese and other church authorities had claimed.

The report prompted an apology from Archbishop Diarmuid Martin and condemnation from Irish Justice Minister Dermot Ahern, who said he felt "a growing sense of revulsion and anger" as he read the report.

The pope promised that the Catholic Church would continue to follow the issue and try to develop "effective and secure strategies" to make sure the abuses don't happen again.

"The Holy Father intends to address a pastoral Letter to the faithful of Ireland in which he will clearly indicate the initiatives that are to be taken in response to the situation," the Vatican said.



Pope Benedict has expressed "outrage, betrayal and shame" over the sexual abuse of children by priests in Ireland.

A major re-organisation of the Irish Catholic church is planned and there are reports that some Bishops will resign over the scandal, which was exposed in a government report two weeks ago.

On Friday one victim condemned the Pope's statement as "just words".
